Art of Facilitation Workshops
Facilitation is all about helping a group of people achieve their goal or objectives and is the most effective way for adults to learn.
Facilitation requires a range of skills to stimulate thinking and problem solving, challenge perceptions, utilise participant's experiences, identify group dynamics and manage the group process and interaction. It is challenging to learn, these skills but once you have mastered them you will find it very rewarding and will notice a significant improvement in the learning outcomes.
Our Art of Facilitation workshops are interactive, hands on and involve practical group work to promote facilitation skill development.
Some of the things you will learn are:
- What is the difference between teaching, training and facilitation?
- The role of a facilitator
- What makes someone a good facilitator
- Adult learning principles
- Learning styles
- Facilitation skills
- How to use questions to manage group dynamics, direction, time and interaction.
- What to do when you have a challenging participant and how to turn that challenge into a positive learning experience
- The importance of setting up the room
- Planning facilitation sessions
By the end of the program, participants will be able to plan and facilitate effective sessions that maximise the learning outcomes, positively engage their participants and make the sessions more enjoyable for everyone.
